LASER VEIN
TREATMENTS
What is the CoolGlide
difference?
CoolGlide aesthetic systems combine the
ideal laser wavelength with the most
flexible parameters to deliver a superior
vascular laser system. They treat tiny
spider veins and facial veins quickly,
safely, and effectively. Clients with dark,
light, or tanned skin can experience
outstanding results with minimal bruising or
blistering.
[back]
How does CoolGlide
Vein Therapy work?
CoolGlide systems
deliver pulses of light energy which causes
the blood within the vein to coagulate,
eventually destroying the vessel which is
later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow
will then be redirected to veins deeper
below the skin’s surface, where it should
be.
[back]
Who can be treated
with CoolGlide systems?
CoolGlide laser
systems feature a unique design and long
wavelength that allows them to treat
patients of all skin tones. Your technician
will advise you if CoolGlide Vein Therapy is
right for you.
[back]
What types of veins
can be treated?
CoolGlide systems can
remove unsightly veins from all parts of the
body. Small facial veins (or
“telangiectasia”) can be treated quickly
without bruising or complication. Spider
veins can be treated with excellent results,
as well as blood blisters (or “hemangiomas”)
and port wine stains, which also respond
very well.
[back]
How many treatments do
I need?
Often, clients find that one or two
treatments are sufficient. However, the
number of treatments necessary depends on
the number of vessels being treated. Since
individual results vary, ask your medical
professional about your specific condition.
[back]
What happens after the
treatment?
Following your treatment, some redness or
bruising may occur.
[back]
When will I see
results?
Most clients find that
the majority of the treated veins have shown
significant improvement within two to six
weeks of treatment. However, your final
results may not be apparent for several
months. Over time, it is possible for new
veins to appear, but these too can be
removed with the CoolGlide laser system.
[back]
Do the treatments
hurt?
Most clients experience a stinging sensation
as the pulses of energy are delivered
through the handpiece. Although no local
anesthesia or pain medication is typically
required, many patients opt to use a topical
anesthetic prior to treatment. Following the
treatment, the pain is minimal to
nonexistent.
[back]
What are the possible
side effects?
Although many clients report few if any side
effects, those most commonly noticed are
slight reddening and local swelling of the
skin. These effects typically last for less
than 24 hours. Some clients may experience
bruising and, in rare instances, blistering
may occur. Consult with your medical
professional for complete information on the
benefits and risks of treatment.
[back]
Are there any activity
restrictions after treatment?
Clients generally resume most normally
activities immediately. However, it is
recommended that you avoid vigorous
activities such as strenuous exercise for
the first 24 hours after treatment. The use
of sunscreen is recommended on any treated
areas exposed to the sun. As always, it is a
good idea to limit your skin exposure.
[back]
How does this compare
to Sclerotherapy?
Your doctor will
advise you on the best course of action, but
many physicians and patients prefer
CoolGlide Vein Therapy because there are no
painful injections.

LASER HAIR
REMOVAL
What is the CoolGlide
difference
CoolGlide systems are
the best laser hair removal systems on the
market for all skin tones, from light to
dark, including tanned patients. Their
unique design, longer wavelength, and
innovative cooling design allow extremely
effective, safe, and permanent results.
[back]
What areas can be
treated with CoolGlide systems?
The CoolGlide Laser System can remove hair
from all parts of the body including the
face, legs, arms, underarms, and back. It
can also treat sensitive areas like the
chest, nipples, and bikini line.
[back]
How many treatments
will I need?
Most areas require a
minimum of 4 treatments, but the number of
CoolGlide treatments you may require for
optimal long-term benefits could be as high
as 6, depending on the various factors such
as your hair’s thickness, the area treated,
and your hair’s growth cycle. Interestingly,
not all hairs are actively growing at the
same time, but actually go through three
distinct phases: growth, regression, and
resting. CoolGlide systems work by disabling
the hair that is principally in the active
growth phase at the time of treatment. Since
other hairs will enter this active growth
phase at different times, additional
treatments may be necessary to disable all
of the hair follicles in a given area.
[back]
What happens after the
treatment?
Immediately following
your CoolGlide treatment, the area may
appear a bit red and swollen. Three to seven
days after treatment, you may experience
what seems to be regrowth of hair. Actually,
most of these hairs are being shed as a
result of your treatment and are not
regrowing. Between treatments, you should
not wax or pluck your hair, but it is
permissible to shave.
[back]
What do CoolGlide
laser treatments feel like?
As the name implies,
the CoolGlide handpiece cools and soothes as
it glides along your skin. When the pulse of
light is delivered, some clients experience
a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No
local anesthetic or pain medication is
typically required, however some clients may
prefer to use a topical anesthetic when
sensitive areas are treated.
[back]
How do CoolGlide
lasers compare with other hair removal
methods?
Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are
all temporary methods which must be repeated
on a frequent basis. Invasive electrolysis
is painful and tedious, treating only one
hair at a time, requiring longer sessions
and often years of frequent treatments. The
innovative CoolGlide lasers offer more
efficient, permanent hair reduction for
lasting results.
[back]
Are there any
restrictions on my activity after treatment?
Following your treatment, you can return to
your normal activities right away. However,
since some redness may occur, you may want
to plan your work or social engagements
accordingly. As always, it is a good idea to
limit your sun exposure and to use
sunscreen. In addition, your technician may
recommend that you use a specially
formulated skincare product line or
prescribe a skincare regiment specially
formulated for your skin type.
[back]
What are the possible
side effects?
Although clients experience few side
effects, the most commonly noticed are
slight reddening and local swelling of the
skin – similar to a sun burn. These effects
typically last for several hours or less. In
rare instances, blistering may occur.
Consult with your medical professional for
complete information on the benefits and
risks of treatment.
[back]
Why choose CoolGlide
over other laser hair removal systems?
Using the latest
technology in laser hair removal, CoolGlide
can rapidly treat large areas without the
limitations of older technologies. The
system’s longer wavelength allows it to be
used safely and effectively on clients with
light or dark skin as well as tanned skin.
Unlike other systems, CoolGlide lasers can
treat the fine hair on a woman’s upper lip
just as easily and effectively as the coarse
hair on a man’s back. The cooled handpiece
increases client comfort and minimized the
adverse skin reaction commonly seen with
other lasers.

LASER
GENESIS SKIN REJUVENATION

What
is the Laser Genesis Difference?
The Laser Genesis
procedure utilizes non-invasive laser
technology to safely, discretely and
effectively treat fine line wrinkles, large
pores, uneven skin texture, diffuse redness,
and scars. You can expect to see subtle yet
consistent results after each treatment,
without unwanted side effects such as
bruising or excessive skin irritation.
Treatments can be preformed in a relaxed,
comfortable manner without the use of
topical anesthetics or gel.
[back]
What
areas can be treated?
Laser Genesis patients
report excellent results over their entire
faces and necks. Additionally,
practicitioners may suggest this therapy to
diminish recent scars on other parts of the
body.
[back]
What
is diffuse redness?
Diffuse redness is a
general appearance of facial redness such as
rosy cheeks. This condition is caused by
dilated capillaries, resulting in an
appearance of general redness, not discrete,
well-defined vessels. The most commonly
affected areas are the nose forehead and
cheeks. Diffuse redness is often associated
with a condition called rosacea and it can
be hereditary. Laser Genesis will help your
appearance by gently treating and reducing
this condition.
[back]
What
does the procedure feel like?
Patients often
describe the treatment as relaxing and
therapeutic. You will experience a gentle
warming of your skin's surface during the
procedure as the laser handpiece is moved
back and fourth about 1/2 inch above your
skin. You can immediately return to normal
activities utilizing sunscreen if
participating in outdoor activities.
[back]
How
does laser genesis work?
By gently heating the
upper dermis well below your skin's surface,
Laser Genesis stimulates collagen regrowth.
Additional heat is generated in dilated
capillaries to reduce redness.
[back]
What
can I expect before the treatment?
You will not need gel,
anesthetic cream or ice prior to treatment.
Before the actual Laser Genesis treatment,
you will be asked to remove your make-up or
moisturizers, and, in some cases, you may be
asked to shave the area to be treated. Your
physician will review and assist with all
pre-treatment requirements.
[back]
How
many treatments will I need?
The treatment results
are often subtle. On average, you may
require four to six treatments in order to
achieve optimal results. Every patient's
condition and needs vary. For more
information about your expected results or
the number of treatments necessary, consult
your physician.
[back]
What
are the possible side effects?
Although most patients
report few if any side effects, the most
common is a slight redness that disappears
within a few hours of treatment. Consult
your physician for complete information
about the benefits and risks of treatment.
[back]
What
kind of textural improvements can you expect
with Laser Genesis skin therapy?
Over the course of
four to five treatments, Laser Genesis can
help restore the skin's youthful glow and
appearance by smoothing out uneven textures
caused by aging, sun damage, or scars. You
will see a more creamy, healthy complexion
as large pores are reduced in size, and
minor imperfections are diminished. The
individual treatment results are subtle, but
the overall effect of multiple treatments
can be quite dramatic.
